Gabriel Kennedy

Standing for:

Brecon and Radnorshire

My key issues are:

  • Mental health in young people

  • Education and equal opportunities

  • Public transport and services

Candidate profile:

I would like to be a Welsh Youth Parliament Member because I really care about the opinions of those around me and I want everyone to have a voice on issues that are affecting us, but we have previously had no say on. If I I get in, I intend to ask schools and colleges in the local area to distribute contact details for me if people have ideas and want their voices heard. I will also regularly check social media and assess what issues appear to be from that. People should vote for me because whatever my personal views, I am willing to listen to you and will not hold your opinions against you, I'm unafraid of breaking the status quo, care very deeply for my peers, I'm not afraid of admitting I'm wrong, and am not scared to speak out about issues that other people may find inappropriate but are nonetheless important.

I have lots of experience that I believe would make me a good WYPM; I do public speaking competitions, have been involved in debate societies, discuss politics and debate with friends, am a member of the school council, and really enjoy talking to people.
