Morgan Williams

Standing for:

Ynys Môn

My key issues are:

  1. Mental health

  2. The Welsh language

  3. North Wales investment

Candidate profile:

I want to be in the Welsh Youth Parliament for a few reasons.

I want to because there are a great many young people that just don't feel interested in and empowered by democracy.

I want to because I feel politics as usual in Wales can sometimes lack the authentic voice for us that is required, particularly in a variety of communities.

Above all, I want to because there are real issues, like mental health funding for young people in Wales, the gradual decline in our local communities and the feeling many young people have in North Wales of almost being left behind when compared to hubs of investment in places like Cardiff, that don't get discussed in nearly the frequency they should be. Any additional voice that can fight these corners, to me, would be vital.

As a follower of Welsh politics for most of my teenage life, I can honestly say that I've been looking forward to see our interests represented, and I want to play my part in ensuring my community feels it is actually heard. Whether through email or post, young people here absolutely will have their concerns passed on and fought for.
