Candidate profile:

I am Abby Cooper. I’m 16 years old and live in Buckley, North Wales.

The reason I’m standing for Youth Parliament is simple; I want to make a difference. Not just in my community, but within my country, too.

Right now, it is critical for the government and the country to hear the voices of young people in Wales, and I want to help make that happen.

I am passionate about ensuring we, the young people of Wales, are heard and the issues affecting us and that matter to us are addressed, and making sure that we have a say in our future, which for too long has been decided by other generations and their votes.

As your representative, I would aim to ensure that education in Wales would see vast reform, issues such as mental health are given a higher profile and those suffering be given more support.

Not only this, but I would also be committed to working with everyone in our community to create a better future for us all.

I’ve grown up in Wales; it’s my home. And with your vote, I will do everything I can to make it a better place for us all.
