Noah Thomas

My key issues are:

  • NHS lack of staff

  • Mental health services funding

  • Town centre regeneration for the youth

Candidate profile:

I’m Noah Thomas, I’m 12 years old. I love to swim for Llanelli ASC, who my mother and sister both swam for. I also like to run and ride my bike. I enjoy spending time with my family going to festivals, and eating out.

I would be a good Welsh Youth Parliament Member because I am confident in speaking up in class and in front of big groups. I have a keen interest in the ‘United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child’ and human rights. I regularly take part in rights based activities with my school, where we talk about issues for young people in our area. The three most important issues to me are: funding in the NHS, as they have a shortage of staff in Wales and are having to close many small hospitals.

Secondly, 1 in 10 young children in Wales will have a mental health concern, meaning roughly 3 people in every class might have to struggle with mental health.

Therefore, we need easily accessible support in every school in Wales. My last issue is that there is a lack of funding in Llanelli for children’s activities, Ramps is there but isn’t for everyone.
