My key issues are:
Rural Transport links
Mental health of teenagers
Plastic free Wales
My name is Angharad Worsley and I am running for the Welsh Youth Parliment because I want all young people in Wales to have a greater voice in deciding their future.
Living in Monmouthshire, my main focus would be on rural affairs in particular, rural transport links. By improving links to Newport and Cardiff young people will be able to live in their communities and easily commute rather than having to relocate for employment. This in turn could help to improve the mental health of people in Monmouthshire by providing them with access to towns and cities where there are greater facilities and services making them feel less isolated.
I would campaign for improved counselling services for teenagers in Schools. Mental health referrals take a long time. Very often young people do not get the help they need before they have a crisis.
My final focus is on reducing plastic waste and increasing the number of “plastic-free shops” in Wales. We live in a beautiful country and we all have a responsibility to keep it that way.
My aim is to use multiple forms of social media to communicate with people across my constituency and to understand their views.
