Benjamin Harris

Standing for:

Delyn

My key issues are:

  • Plastic in the oceans

  • Polluted air near schools

  • Lack of engagement in politics

Candidate profile:

My name in Benjamin Harris and I am hoping to represent Delyn in the Welsh Youth Parliament.  I believe that young people should have a more active engagement in politics and am in full support of lowering the voting age to 16.  I would introduce lessons in politics in high school to support this.

Another problem concerning schools is harmful air in and around them.  I would make industries near by regulate their pollution. We have many beautiful beaches surrounding Wales, we need to clean the plastic in the oceans.  The Welsh Parliament should pay for beach clean ups and limit the amount of single use plastics.

I have  lived in Wales all my life and attend school at Mold Alun.  I have experience in politics and have been elected many times to represent the school council. To engage with my constituents I would hold monthly surgeries to consult with my constituents in our local community cafe as well as exploring the use of social media.
