Candidate profile:

Hello, my name is Cian Gough. I am 12 years of age (year 8), and I would like to apply for the Welsh Youth Parliament. I attend Treorchy Comprehensive School, in the Rhondda Valley, in South Wales where I study Fast Track Welsh meaning I will sit my Welsh GCSE a year early. I enjoy all sports, especially rugby. I play for the Rhondda Valley District team and my local team, Treorchy Zebras.

One particular issue that comes to mind immediately is the litter problem in Wales. As well as trying to tackle this, I would also love to represent my fellow youths and be a voice on their behalf. I feel that I am a confident speaker and I would be comfortable speaking in front of a large audience.

Last year I was a school councillor representing year 7.  Due to this, I think I would be a good representative for the youths of Wales as I am fair and would consider everyone’s views before making a decision. Thanks for reading.

Yours sincerely, Cian Gough
