Neve Howells-Aitken

Standing for:

Cardiff West

My key issues are:

  • Invest in green public transport

  • Ban single use plastic bags

  • More resources for mental health

Candidate profile:

Hello, I’m Neve. I would like to make changes.

My aim as a youth assembly member is to be a reliable voice for young people who live in urban areas affected by unique and reoccurring problems and improve their quality of life.

Every DAY around 5 people die from issues relating to pollution in Wales, that is 1825 a year. That’s why investment in public transport powered by renewable energy would significantly reduce pollution.

Convenience otherwise known as plastic is killing our planet, it is and always will be a problem for our generation. 160,000 plastic bags are used every SECOND. Since 2011 single use carrier bags have had a minimum charge of 5p in Wales. 5p is not enough, 5p will NOT stop every consumers from buying.

That’s why we need to increase the charge or introduce  a total ban!

Mental health is a real issue for our generation, affecting 1 in 4 people. More resources NEED to be dedicated to tackling this issue, hopefully saving yet again more lives.

If elected , I would ensure I am accessible through social media, face to face and at organised meetings to ensure EVERYONE'S voice is heard. Twitter - @Neve_HA Instagram- @neve_ha
