Idris Carney

Standing for:

Vale of Clwyd

My key issues are:

  • Transport - free transport for all children

  • Education - practical life skills

  • The environment - renewable energy

Candidate profile:

I believe I am a good fit for the youth parliament as I'm already a member of the Denbighshire youth council, and as such I have experience in pushing change for young people and getting our voice heard.

I want to give every young person in my area a larger platform to make change and draw attention to the issues affecting us. As part of the Denbighshire Youth Council I have experience in consulting with young people to understand what matters to them, we have held events raising awareness for mental health and have surveyed what young people really think they should be learning in Personal Social Education. This is leading to actual change in the PSE curriculum. In addition to this I am also fluent in both Welsh and English. And so, I am positive I have all the skills necessary to be part of the Youth Parliament.

I hope I can count on your vote in this year’s Youth Parliament elections!
