Elinor Lewis

  • Stop child abuse and bullying

Candidate profile:

I have always had plenty to say for myself. I want to use that voice to give young people a platform. I will speak to my friends and fellow pupils regularly to ensure I understand and represent their views. Though I know that I am at the younger end of the scale in terms of the age of people allowed to stand, I think it’s important that the WYP has people of different ages. I am a confident speaker who is always willing to fight for change. For example, when I was concerned about the traffic around my primary school, I went with the head teacher to City Hall in Cardiff to address councillors and the Lord Mayor.

I have also recently taken part in the Welsh Youth Parliament languages video, highlighting the need to take mental health issues seriously. I was also on the school council during my time at primary school, and on the year council in my first year in secondary. Personally, I would be honoured to be part of the WYP to represent young people.
