Katie Hoddinott

Standing for:

My key issues are:

  • Mental Health

  • Pressure for High Academic Achieve

  • Youth Homelessness

Candidate profile:

I would be a valuable asset to the Welsh Youth Parliament as I am passionate about making a difference. Since the age of 13 I have volunteered with a local housing association, Melin Homes,  in their youth forum. This has involved working with young people and the wider community, engaging with people from many backgrounds.

This role has given me the opportunity to undertake research for Wales Audit Office, to understand the aspirations and challenges of youths. This evidence will form the basis of a Wales Audit Good Practice event in 2019. This experience and learning has equiped me for consultation if successful as candidate for the Welsh Youth Parliament.

I will continue this work to consult with youth's throughout Torfaen and further if needed.

This role is in addition to my current full time education in the sixth form of Cwmbran High School. I would speak to both students within my school but also through the Melin Homes Schools Programme, engage with other partner primary and high schools within Torfaen.

I believe people should vote for me as I am hardworking, compassionate and driven to make a difference as I have demonstrated through my volunteering from a young age.
