Candidate profile:

I would like to be considered as a prospective member of Youth Parliament. I feel I have the aptitude and attitude to effectively represent young people and their views across Wales. Additionally, I believe that everyone should have input into how their country runs, which ultimately affects lives daily.

I have a passion for politics and recently wrote my Welsh Baccalaureate project on the subject of devolution in Wales.  Prior to writing the extended project, politics was an interest; however, since conducting extensive research and interviewing Assembly Members, I now have a much deeper understanding of how government works, which has made my interest even stronger.  I have been a member of the School Council each year since beginning High School.

As a member of the school council, as well speaking on behalf of my year group, I have always been active in ensuring students’ opinions are gathered and meeting outcomes are distributed.  It is this high level of communication I would like to have the opportunity to share with my local community.  Being a member of the school council has afforded me the confidence to voice my opinion to others, even if I stand alone in what I believe.
