Teah Ross

Standing for:

Carmarthen East and Dinefwr

My key issues are:

  • Music services lack of funding

  • Negative effect of social media

  • Peer pressure in schools

Candidate profile:

As a year 10 pupil in Ysgol Bro Dinefwr, I have built up my confidence in giving my opinion in tasks such as class debates on controversial subjects and presentations.

Even before this, being involved in politics has been a career interest of mine since a year 6 school trip to the Houses of Parliament.

I strongly believe that the issues young people in Wales face today, including my three chosen concerns, are extremely important as we are the future of the country.

In order to ensure that our voices are heard, I would listen as well as voice my own opinion and document any problems raised to always have correct information to relay other people's concerns accurately.

As a result of being in the Carmarthenshire Music Service orchestra, I am able to talk and listen to people from many different schools with ages ranging from 11-18. I'm very interested in hearing people's views and placing myself in their shoes to help word their situation in a way that everyone else would understand.

This way, I feel as though I can really make a difference. I would be honored to represent Carmarthen East and Dinefwr in the Welsh Youth Parliament.
