Candidate profile:

Hello. My name is Awen! I am 11 years old and live with my family in the rural area of Penmachno near Betws-y-coed, and am a Year 7 pupil at Ysgol Dyffryn Conwy, Llanrwst.

I would like to be a member of the Welsh Youth Parliament because I want to make a difference for the better to the lives of children and young people in Wales.

If I was elected I would work to establish a stronger future for the young people of Wales. I promise to give of my best in my constituency ensuring the issues that are important to you are given due consideration.

Having been a member of the School Council in the primary school and a current member of the year 7 forum at secondary school, I have experience of being part of a democratic system. I am comfortable with public speaking having benefited from experiences such as competing on the Urdd stage and the school debating team in the book quiz. I enjoy problem solving, am innovative, flexible, honest and know how to prioritise effectively.

As a member of a Welsh rural community in north Wales, I feel I understand the concerns and challenges that face us and look forward to the opportunity to overcome them. Thank you.
