Steffan Rhys Thomas

Standing for:

Cardiff North

My key issues are:

  • Promoting safe cycling

  • A happy education for all

  • A plastic free Wales

Candidate profile:

The views of young people are crucial when making decisions about the future. As a pupil at Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Glantaf, I contribute enthusiastically to all aspects of school life. If I were elected to the Youth Parliament, I would do the same there. I am always open to considering new ideas and I like to discuss different problems and issues.

As I am fully bilingual, I will be able to speak and debate the ideas and opinions of voters in both Welsh and English.

The Youth Parliament will play a huge role in the process of determining the path that Wales will take in the future. As Cardiff develops, it is essential that young people can access reliable transport, including suitable roads and routes for cycling. It is also important that young people can feel safe as they attend school, and for all pupils to have the opportunity to develop their skills in a positive environment. Wales can also lead the way on environmental issues such as plastic pollution.

If I were elected, I would ensure that the ideas and opinions of young people are heard and I would do my best to represent the voices of everyone in the community.
