Ioan Jordan

Standing for:

Ynys Môn

My key issues are:

  • The quality of education in lower sets

  • More relevant school subjects

  • Injustices in schools

Candidate profile:

I am interested in politics, economics and current affairs, and it would be a privilege to be part of the governance of Wales through the Youth Parliament project; I hope to have a career in politics. I have a strong opinion on many subjects in politics, and as a result, I am confident that I can make a difference. I also feel that I have the ability to clearly express my opinion verbally to build efficient arguments for my positions.

In Cardiff - and also in London - I do not see a great deal of diverse ideological representation on important issues in the country, and I see that the government has become a kind of 'echo chamber' where there is too much talk about doing but not enough real action. There is a great deal wrong in our education institutions and I see that not all children in this country get what they need. As a result, we see more children with a lot of potential falling through the net and losing interest in education, which can also create future social problems. I can certainly work in the parliament to help to fight against this.
