Sophie Williams

Standing for:

My key issues are:

  • Creating and promoting extracurricular activities

  • Improving personal education

  • Encouraging more Welsh speakers

Candidate profile:

I would like to be part of the Welsh Youth Parliament because I like to ensure that the voices of young people are heard.

I will engage people via school and will create podcasts on YouTube to encourage more participation. I will create questionnaires, talk to people and work with local organisations that work and support children, such as Menter Iaith and Menter Bro Ogwr. I would help to support Welsh speakers by reaching the target of a million speakers by 2050 promised by the Welsh Government.

People should vote for me because I'm a good listener and I would ensure that people's voices are heard. I'm confident. I love to sing and have performed before many varied audiences, live and on television. I have also performed in the Bridgend show to promote the Welsh language.

I'm part of the school netball team, the school choir and have competed in the eisteddfod since a young age. I attend stagecoach and I’m an active member of Ogmore Valley Archers. I also like to spend time with friends.
