Mirain Iwerydd James

Standing for:

Preseli Pembrokeshire

My key issues are:

  • Adequate funding for schools

  • The Welsh language

  • Mental health awareness in schools

Candidate profile:

I aspire to make a difference to the lives of Wales’ youth. Currently I do not feel as though our voices are being heard. School budgets are being cut drastically, meaning that schools are unable to provide adequate education to our young people.

The Welsh language and it’s heritage are things that are important to me and I aim to make Welsh as accessible as possible to everyone. I strongly believe that there needs to be better awareness and understanding of mental health in our schools. For something that impacts on 1 in 4 of us, the current provisions are lacking and more needs to be done In our schools to raise awareness and create a more open dialogue on the subject. Our future is in the hands of other people. How is that fair? What is fair about the fact that other people get to make decisions for us on OUR future when we don’t get a say on anything? I want to ensure that your voice is heard and listened to. I want to make positive change to the lives of the young people of Wales and play a role in ensuring a better future for everyone. ThankYou
