#Repost @jonathon_dawesmwyp with @get_repost ・・・ This weekend has been one of the best most unforgettable weekends of my life and of my political career meeting so many people and making so many new friends. I was honoured to make my first speech in the Senedd this weekend in the First Welsh Youth Parliament National Debate. My speech was on lifeskills in the curriculum and how it should be implemented in Wales by the Welsh Government. I am very happy to say that the Senedd voted in majority in favour of my subject. Making it one of the top issues. My idea is to cover this in the Welsh Baccalaureate. I would like thank to all the members who spoke very passionately about their issues and who voted for mine. Throughout the debates I also made a wide range of contributions on other subjects. Along with my main speech I will be releasing these next week. Again, thank you to all the fantastic MWYPs across Wales, Elin Jones AM and all Welsh Youth Parliament staff for an amazing weekend.

I’ve had the opportunity to speak about an issue close to my heart; mental health in one of the most politically phenomenal Welsh landmarks: The Senedd Chamber. Many debates have taken place in this very Chamber and to be able to speak about an issue that it massive in it is an experience I’ll never forget. I’ve made friends this weekend who I haven’t met until now but only spoken to online and I must say they are the most kind hearted and determined young people I’ve ever met. They’re not just young people, they’re the next leaders of Wales who are truly inspirations. It’s such a pleasure to say that I’m in the Welsh Youth Parliament to help decide the future of Wales for young people just like me. The issues that I am proud to say that we are working on are mental health, plastic waste and litter and life skills in the curriculum. 3 amazing topics that affect many young people. I’d just like to say a big thank you to the Welsh Youth Parliament for making this weekend happen and another big thank you to the Members of the Welsh Youth Parliament, without you guys I wouldn’t of had as much fun as I did. ———————————————————— @welshyouthparliament #welshyouthparliament #politics #senedd #youngpeople #mentalhealth #residential #friends
